Sculpfun S9 Settings

We have one Sculpfun S9 in the workshop. Which I barely use. Almost everyone else uses it for their pet projects. And most everybody has fiddled out the settings for one specific task. But everybody and their cub comes to me asking for the correct settings for stuff I never worked with. So, I try to collect the data here, allowing me to make a printout or just tagging this page to the workshop computers “Manuals” bookmarks.

Note: For thicker materials you may have to remove the red laser shield and lower the laser head closer than the default distance block permits. I'll try to find the best distance and have an alternate distance block printed.

Cutting

Cutting means just that: Completely cutting through the material, similar to fretworks.

8 50

Engraving

Engraving is a bad word to describe what is happening in this process. Pyrography would be better. The laser heats the material until it darkens on the surface. Variations are possible, ranging from slightly darker hues of the material to charcoal black.
